That's probably the best trick in the book!...that is of course unless you actually got orders to New Orleans... Then what?... What's the next less than glamerous unit out there?

In that case, I would follow Sea Aggie's advice and get a tourist guide... then just hope for the best.

So...get a 2004 edition. I don't think they've made any of those since '05! J/K

I don't know if you can spin that one.

I told my wife Houston, that was the worst for her.

What's wrong with New Orleans? It's not that bad , ummm....yeah. I'm definitely ready to get out of here.

New Orleans really isn't that bad, just busy. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm leaving here with A LOT of experience under my belt, and my M pin.

I told my son at dinner that we were going to Sector Boston, and we planned out our road trip together so to incorprate some things he wanted to do as well.

Seeing how both of us are red soxs fans.. theres not much worry about dislike of the location.

As I was hoping for Maui, the rest of my family was as well and were not pleased with another cold weather location as my duty stationed... but it's no big deal..

As all of us day dreamed of being the only Miami Dolphin fans at a New England Game in the winter and soon all was good again.

Heres how I avoid all issues.........when it comes time to transfer I give my wife the shopping list and she tells me where she would like to go. This way she feels like she has some control over the situation. Once she ranks them out after doing internet research, I put my comments and concerns about the job I will be doing at the given locations. If I happen to get the supplemental list as I did this time, I comfort her a little and repeat the process.

It works trust me.

I actually did that as well... I have given her a list of open places and asked her to rank them. It does put her at ease a little.

That does work, unless you only had four choices like I had:
MSD Vadez
MSU Savannah
Sector San Juan, PR
MSU Huntington

Then she was praying to every God imaginable...but it all worked out.
